WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe that there is one Living God, eternally existing and manifesting in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory, who, together, created, uphold and govern all that exists.
We believe that the Holy Spirit inspired the human authors so that the Bible is infallible in matters of faith, never failing to lead us to truth and abundant life as God intended us to experience it.
We believe that God created mankind in His image for relationship with Him and to govern the earth. Under the temptation of Satan, mankind was separated from God’s grace, bringing pain, sin and death to the earth.
We believe that the Father sent His only Son, Jesus, into the world, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. After living a sinless life and performing many miracles, he died on the cross to atone for the sins of the world & restore us to life. Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day, restoring believers into a relationship with God. We are saved by turning from self-governance & sin & by allowing Jesus & his word to guide our lives. He becomes our primary relationship—gradually shaping our values, thoughts, words & deeds to be like him.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who regenerates and empowers all who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus. The Holy Spirit dwells in every believer in Christ and is their helper, teacher, and guide. We believe in the ongoing filling and empowerment of the Spirit as we learn to yield to his promptings, conviction and direction. We believe in the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the Spirit, expressed through the fruit of the Spirit (love, gentleness, self-control, patience, etc.)
We believe that Jesus Christ commanded two sacraments to the Church: water baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Both are available to all believers who have personally chosen to follow Jesus Christ..
We believe that God’s kingdom has been inaugurated in the ministry of Jesus Christ and the ministry of the Holy Spirit through the Church. It will be consummated in the triumphant return of Christ Jesus when there will be a final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous, and endless separation from God and suffering of the wicked.
We believe that every Christian is to be an active minister of the Church and is charged to reach out to others in grace and mercy and to make disciples of all people regardless of race, ethnicity, economic status, gender or any other distinction. No one is beyond the reach of Jesus and the good news of the Gospel!
We believe that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and we are called to honor God with them. While temptation itself is not sin, as we follow Jesus, he increasingly enables us to offer our bodies as pure vessels of worship to God., to overcome lust and to avoid sexual sin (sex outside of a marriage covenant between a man and woman).
Not all are intended (or choose) to marry. Singleness and celibacy is a noble calling practiced by Jesus, the apostle Paul, and countless others today, including same-sex attracted Christians who choose abstinence from sex because of their commitment to Scripture. We champion these believers in their sacrificial pursuit of purity, and we seek to provide loving, compassionate support, Christ-like affection, and close-knit community to help them succeed.
